CONVERSATIONS WITH SAM

I have added two new activities to our fall mornings:  a weekly bible study and Kids Day Out.  Sam is less than thrilled about both of these.  All he wants to do is stay home and play.  These new activities have also brought on a heavy dose of “need to be with mommy” time.  I used to slip out each morning to drop the girls off at school, then swing by the grocery store to pick up odds and ends before Nathan headed off for the day.  Now Sam accompanies me, and although I liked the alone time, it is a treat to get a little one on one time with him.

Here are some of the things I have heard him say to me this week in the car:

“Here Mom!  I have a booger for you (hands it to me).”

“Mom, you and dad are my people”

“Mom, you are somethin’ else!”

“Mom, I’ll be right back, (exits the car shaped grocery cart) I need to shoot some bad guys!”

“Mom, I’m the boss of Jude because he’s five and I’m eight”

I’m sure I will be adding to this list tomorrow!
